New Insurance Membership Protects Washington State Families Against High Cost of Emergency Medical Transport

(Port Ludlow, WA – January 27, 2010) Apollo MT, a brokerage firm that protects nearly 10,000 Alaskans each year against the high costs of emergency medical transport through its fully insured membership program, recently expanded its coverage area to the state of Washington.

The membership insurance program, which is available to all Washington State residents, provides complete coverage in case of an emergency medical transport by ground or air — an expense that most insurance companies don’t cover in full.

“An average ambulance ride costs $1,100 and a single air transport can range from $8,000-$20,000, and most of these unexpected costs are billed to the patient — regardless of whether he or she has insurance coverage,” notes Dr. Eric Stirling, a founder and co-owner of Apollo MT, who launched the membership brokerage after watching patients rack up enormous medical bills from emergency transport.

Apollo MT’s one-year membership program costs only $125 and provides full coverage for the entire household, regardless of the number of emergency transports required.  Apollo MT also offers a three-week travelers policy, at just $45,  which provides ground and air emergency transport coverage for people traveling throughout Western Canada and Alaska.

The Apollo MT memberships, which have been approved by the Washington State Insurance Commissioner, cover any person regardless of pre-existing illness, insurance status or age, and are active three days after sign up.   Group and corporate plans are also available.
